We produced a horrid performance against Dinamo Zagreb in our opening Champions League game against the supposed whipping boys of the group.
The attitude we showed was downright disrespectful and few players can come away from that game with a good feeling.

Here’s how we rated.
GK) David Ospina – 5
Ospina has demonstrated why signing Petr Cech was vital this summer with the Colombian unable to stop Dinamo Zagreb from scoring. The second goal is the one many would look to as a clear fault from Ospina.

RB) Mathieu Debuchy – 5
Debuchy looked rather clumsy throughout and was caught out of position for the first goal. He also lacks the confidence in possession to fit in with our style of play.
CB) Laurent Koscielny – 5
Should’ve done better for their second goal as we conceded from a simple set-piece. The Dinamo Zagreb striker was given a free run at goal.
CB) Gabriel – 7
Held the back four together at times and was one of the only players who looked up for the fight throughout the game.
LB) Kieran Gibbs – 4
Pathetic attempt to defend the near post for Zagreb’s second goal as he appeared to duck under the incoming ball. Nowhere near displacing Nacho Monreal.
