We are allegedly looking to bring a goalkeeper to the club this summer, and – along with Petr Cech (via Goal) – Iker Casillas is among the names being touted.

Arsenal rumours
Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea is a top target for Real Madrid (via the Daily Mail), and his arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu could signal a departure for Casillas.
A report on popular Spanish radio show El Partido de las 12 claimed that the La Liga keeper had already turned down a move to Valencia, with Casillas insisting that he has no intention of playing for any Spanish club other than Real Madrid.
They continued to discuss the veteran’s future throughout the show, with respected journalist Julio Pulido claiming that London was his most likely destination.
“The only city that he’s planning to live in short-term, is London,” Pulido said.

“That’s short-term, as he would look favourably towards playing for a team in London. Longer-term, he fancies a move to New York. He certainly isn’t thinking of somewhere like Istanbul or anywhere similar, because he doesn’t consider that to be suitable for his wife and child.”
If we really do have our eye on Casillas, then this is a massive boost for us. He will presumably be keen to continue competing in the Champions League, and it seems unlikely that he would be willing to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea.
It seems like a switch to the Emirates is the only realistic option for the Spanish international, but is he really an improvement on David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny?
