Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira has admitted that he takes it “very easy” on the pitch despite his remarkable start at Arsenal (via Ecos).
Lucas Torreira has quietly imposed himself in this Arsenal team and after a string of recent performances, has become an established player.
Torreira was one of the standout players during the 5-1 victory over Fulham last weekend and the 22-year-old has given an interview in his native Uruguay where he has gone into detail about his style of play.
“I take it very easy,” Torreira admitted to Ecos.
“I am very happy to be able to help my team with my game, with my desire, but the most important thing here is not that Torreira is the best (of the match), but that the team keeps growing.
“The key is to keep working, growing as a team in all the competitions that we play, go as seriously as we did in the Europa League this week.”

For Arsenal and Torreira, that will continue after the international break. The midfielder is currently away with Uruguay but had some words about the man who helped bring him to Arsenal, Unai Emery.
“He is a coach who advises us a lot, who is constantly behind us and who pushes us to move forward and that is very important for us.”
Lucas Torreira has been excellent since his summer move from Sampdoria. He is exactly the kind of player who has been missing from Arsenal’s midfield in the last few years. Hopefully, he will remain at the club and put in these kinds of performances for many years to come.
