Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has once again reiterated his desire to strengthen our squad, but has stressed that he’s only looking to sign “exceptional” players, the boss told Sky Sports.
Following the arrival of Petr Cech, fans have understandably been glued to the column inches to see who we’ll sign next, but there has been little movement so far.
The depth of our squad is enormous which means that any player signed by the club must be better than what we’ve got and capable of strengthening our first XI, something Wenger touched on yet again.
“I leave, every week, international players on the bench and sometimes cannot even put them in the squad,” Wenger told Sky Sports.
“It has to be exceptional potential to come in.”

Having spoken about potential incomings, the boss also confirmed that we are no longer in the business of selling our best players and reaffirmed our new financial might.
The arrivals of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez proved to many that we now have the power to finance big deals, though few have acknowledged our strength to keep hold of our best talent.
