Jack Wilshere missed our Community Shield victory against Chelsea after sustaining yet another ankle injury, but Arsene Wenger revealed that the problem was a minor one.

Wilshere had enjoyed a successful pre-season and his latest knock, rather naturally, gave the nation a scare with a major international tournament looming large following the culmination of the domestic campaign.
However, Wenger allayed fears and stated that Wilshere’s injury wasn’t a serious one and that the prognosis is a question of days as opposed to a matter of weeks.
The 23-year-old desperately needs an injury-free season in order for him to reach his potential.

Wilshere has been predominantly deployed on the flanks during pre-season which suggests that the boss may not see him as a central option this season.
