We have long been linked with a move for Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons, and Arsene Wenger is allegedly still keen on bringing the Frenchman to Arsenal, according to the Metro.
We have been lacking a dominant defensive midfielder, and despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin, Wenger is expected to dip back into the market this summer.
The boss is known to be a huge fan of his compatriot, and has reportedly requested his signature personally. There are a number of other players the fans would no doubt prefer to see in an Arsenal shirt next season, but the 25-year-old does look to be the kind of player we need.
He will apparently command a fee of £14.8m, which seems a reasonable fee.

The tough tackling midfielder is also a target for Napoli and Tottenham, but a switch to the Emirates and the chance to play under Arsene Wenger would surely prove an appealing prospect.
