Arsene Wenger has reportedly had a personal conversation with Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia to express his interest and Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan are subsequently looking at other targets, Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
Kondogbia has been one of the names repeatedly linked with us over the past few weeks as a potential defensive midfielder to provide competition for Francis Coquelin in the heart of our midfield.

According to Di Marzio, talks have reopened between Wenger and Kondogbia which suggests that an agreement with the club has already – or is close – to being reached.

If the boss can get this deal over the line then we’ll have serious strength in depth in our midfield department.
