Legia Warsaw youngster Krystian Bielik is set to undergo a medical this Friday, with the talented midfielder now looking certain to be our first signing of the window, as reported by ESPN.
A move has looked close for a while now, with Arsenal representatives flying out to Poland to finalise the deal for the versatile 17-year-old.
Arsene Wenger revealed in his press conference this morning that a deal had finally been done, and that Bielik was on his way to London.
When asked if everything else was sorted, and if a deal would go through pending the medical, the Frenchman simply replied: “Yes.”
The switch was certainly no secret, and this was merely the official confirmation from Wenger. Legia had previously announced that their young star was set to join us imminently, and Bielik himself revealed the move on the club’s official website.
“I’m going to London to fulfil my dreams. I hope I will become an Arsenal player soon.”
£2.5m is believed to be the agreed fee, and once the medical is complete he should join up with his new teammates immediately. Wenger is confident that despite his tender age, Bielik should be ready to get involved in first team football.
