Arsene Wenger has fired back at Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, after the Portuguese coach claimed that the notion about our lack of spending is a myth and that our boss has spent more than him over the past few years, Goal reports.
Speaking at his press conference today following our Members’ Day event, Wenger stated that he preferred to let the Chelsea boss and many others talk given the contradiction regarding the claims made about him.
Ahead of the Community Shield clash at Wembley, Mourinho is clearly trying to cause some controversy ahead of a game which will be keenly contested.

“One day you will look at the players we have developed here compared to the spending of other clubs and you will be surprised,” Wenger told reporters.
“I get different reproaches – that I don’t spend enough then I spend too much.

Mourinho’s latest jibe will certainly be labeled as ‘mind games’ by most, but there could be something deeper in his latest outburst.
After handing us Petr Cech, a player who clearly strengthens and arrived against Mourinho’s wishes (via the Daily Star), we’re certainly in good shape to snatch the league title off the Blues.
We have never beaten a side managed by Mourinho, but with finances no longer restricted we’re capable of reversing that trend. And Mourinho knows it.
