Arsene Wenger has stated that teams self-belief regarding their consistent presence in the top four will serve them well in what is the fiercest battle for the Champions League spots in recent memory.
Five teams are realistically competing for two spots, with the likes of Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur sustaining a top four challenge until now.
In our favour is the experience we have in the run-in, with the situation at the end of last season serving as a good preparation as we trailed Everton with just four games to go.
But our calmness and efficiency meant we ended up finishing seven points ahead of the Toffees in fifth place.
“Every year we have been under threat until the last game,” Wenger told reporters ahead of the game against Leicester City on Tuesday night.

“Every year we’ve managed to do it. We have a good opportunity to show that we have the strength to deal with that pressure and that we have the quality – I’m completely convinced we have the quality.”
If there is anything that all Arsenal fans can agree on, it’s that Wenger has a relentless habit of getting us into the Champions League and we’d be expected to feel confident in him doing that again.
Especially considering the team harbours the stand-out individual in the league this season in Alexis Sanchez.
