Arsene Wenger is reportedly eyeing a move for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski after becoming frustrated in his efforts to land Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, according to El Confidencial’s Kike Marin.
@Arsenal The last summer, Reus was very very near to #Arsenal. Even, he was to London. Now? I think not. Wenger will hope to Benzema.

Kike has reported heavily on the Benzema story throughout the summer and believes that Wenger has a backup plan if his initial idea doesn’t come off.
How Wenger expects to conclude a deal for Lewandowski if he fails to lure Benzema remains to be seen with both strikers currently first choice options at two of the biggest clubs in the world.
All the indications are pointing towards us entering the new campaign with the squad currently available to us and it will be interesting to see who the boss positions as our central striker.

Olivier Giroud is the obvious choice, but Wenger’s decision to start Walcott ahead of him in our biggest game last season at Wembley was telling.
We clearly lack pace in our forward line with Giroud positioned as our central striker and Walcott’s presence will worry any defensive rearguard.
With a clash against Chelsea fast approaching, Wenger’s decision will give us a clear idea of his plans for the new season.
