Arsene Wenger is apparently keen on signing Barcelona wonderkid Munir El Haddadi, with the Metro reporting that we are looking to complete a deal to bring the youngster to the Emirates this summer.
The report suggests that it will be a loan deal initially, although Wenger is hoping to include an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
We have a history of poaching young stars from the La Liga giants, and the Metro claim Munir would be keen to follow the likes of Hector Bellerin and Jon Toral to Arsenal – with the 19-year-old fed up with his lack of first-team football.
The Spaniard is a fantastic talent, but with the options ahead of him at the Nou Camp it’s hardly surprising he can’t break into the team. Depending on the fee demanded, this could prove a shrewd bit of business from Wenger.
Unfortunately, the Metro cite Spanish publication Fichajes as their primary source – a notoriously unreliable site. It would be fantastic to see the youngster arrive at the Emirates, but until we hear more we should take this with a pinch of salt.
