The England international made his first appearance since January when he came on as an 80th-minute substitute during the 3-0 victory over Burnley at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The Spaniard has suggested that the Englishman is a unique player and feels the return of the forward will give the side something different up front.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, he said:
Theo is a unique player. He has been here a long time and he is a player who gives us something very, very different.
Theo has been tremendous in the last few seasons so to get a player like him back after such a long time can only be a positive for us.
Wenger claimed that he would be pleased to see Theo included in the upcoming England squad, but warned Roy Hodgson that the forward has not yet returned to full fitness. He said:
Yes, because he needs competition and needs games. I am happy if he goes with England because during that period here is more a rest period because there is nobody here.
He is now in the period where he needs hard training.
Walcott came on for the Ox and it looked like he hadn’t missed nine months of professional football. His dribbling and footwork was pristine, his pace was explosive, his passing was superb and he even had an attempt on goal that was headed for the top corner but was denied superbly by Tom Heaton.

It already looked as though Walcott and Alexis Sanchez had been playing together for years. The prospect of having Walcott, the Ox, Alexis and Welbeck all on the field at once is incredibly tantalizing and I hope we get to see it soon. If we can keep Walcott healthy, I don’t see why Arsenal can’t make a run at the title. We’ve been incredibly lackluster thus far, yet we’re still hanging on in fourth place.
