Arsenal’s potential move for Arturo Vidal took another twist over the weekend as his agent Fernando Felicevich attended our FA Cup final victory against Aston Villa, Calciomercato reports.
Felicevich also attended the players’ private party following our comfortable win with the Chilean accompanying his other superstar client – Alexis Sanchez. Felicevich is the gentlemen on the far right in this image.
Alexis and Felicevich seem to share a relationship which goes beyond professional boundaries and his sheer presence at a private event illustrates exactly that.
However, Calciomercarto suggests that it was ‘very likely’ that Arsene Wenger and Felicevich discussed Vidal during his stay over the weekend.
The two were involved in some interesting negotiations to bring Alexis to our club with Wenger revealing that he met Felicevich in Brazil during the World Cup a few times (via Daily Express).
Arsenal transfer rumours
- Arsenal must outmanoeuvre Galatasaray to win race for £2m ‘bargain’ transfer
- Arsenal reportedly set to sign free agent after impressive trial
- Arsenal have ‘concrete interest’ in signing Bayern Munich II star
Wenger is yet to firmly deny a move for Vidal which is exactly why talk continues to persist regarding the potential arrival of the Champions League finalist.
His arrival would require a major reshuffle in midfield as Vidal isn’t necessarily known for his defensive work when operating in midfield.
He occupied the tip of a midfield diamond role in both legs against Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Champions League and is deployed in a similar position for Chile.
It will be interesting to see what Wenger does in the midfield area this summer.
