On Tuesday we wrote a piece discussing the possibility of Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany being fit for our clash with Manchester City (read it here), and unfortunately there’s some bad news ahead of the weekend.
Manchester City’s official Twitter account confirmed that Aguero has returned to full training this Wednesday, and is expected to be back in time for their trip to the Emirates.

There’s no news on Vincent Kompany – who has been tipped to miss the game (via the Manchester Evening News) – which is at least something. City are a far stronger team with their captain at the back, and they keep many, many more clean sheets with the Belgian in the side. If he remains absent this weekend then we should find it far easier to get the ball in the back of the net, and then we’ll just have to worry about leaking goals at the other end.
The likes of Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Raheem Sterling are some of the deadliest in the league, and we’ll need to be strong at the back to keep them out. The Argentine is unquestionably one of the most lethal strikers in the world, and we would prefer to face a Manchester City side without him. He is unlikely to be fully fit though, and even if he’s able to start he’ll be lacking match sharpness.

We’re facing Manchester City at a great time form wise, regardless of who they have available. We’re more than capable of taking all three points, and we could be top of the table come Christmas if we get the win in this vital six pointer.
