Barcelona have offered Massimiliano Allegri a three-year deal worth £20 million to replace Luis Enrique, according to Spanish outlet AS.
The report claims the Catalan giants have already made contact with the Italian over a possible summer move as they seek a new coach.
Allegri has emerged as one of the favourites to replace Arsene Wenger should he step down this summer, but the Gunners could now be set to miss out on the 49-year-old.
The Italian, is however, being widely tipped to leave Juventus at the end of the season and will come face-to-face with Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The news will be a blow to Arsenal fans with the club having also denied reports they have approached Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel about replacing Wenger.
Wenger’s future remains uncertain although there is a growing expectancy that he will stay on for at least one more year.

The Frenchman has admitted he has made a decision and that it will be announced shortly which definitely needs to happen with the current uncertainty and fan frustration causing a toxic atmosphere around the club.
Previous reports have suggested the club will seek to clarify their plans for next season over the international break so a decision will hopefully be forthcoming.
