Arsenal’s Champions League draw with Bayern Munich was hardly the fixture Arsene Wenger would have wanted but it has also handed the Gunners boss a headache.
The Bayern fixtures mean Arsenal face a difficult-looking schedule in February and March with the first leg coming after a potential title-deciding clash with Chelsea and a potential fifth round FA Cup clash.
The second leg also comes at a difficult time with Arsenal due to travel to Liverpool, the only side to have beaten Arsenal so far this season, on March 4 just three days before the clash at the Emirates against Bayern.
Schedule in full:
Saturday February 4: Chelsea v Arsenal
Saturday February 11: Arsenal v Hull City
- Arsenal ready a £25million bid for a ‘rising star’ of Dutch football
- Arsene Wener to return to dugout since leaving Arsenal in 2018
- Arsenal target ex-midfielder transfer after four years apart
Wednesday February 15: Bayern Munich v Arsenal
Saturday February 18: FA Cup fifth round
Saturday February 25: Southampton v Arsenal
Saturday March 4: Liverpool v Arsenal
Tuesday March 7: Arsenal v Bayern Munich
Saturday March 11: Arsenal v Leicester City
Arsenal currently trail Chelsea by three points at the top of the table after the weekend’s fixtures and are three points clear of Liverpool who lie third after drawing 2-2 with West Ham on Sunday.
Antonio Conte’s side have won their last nine games in a row to move top of the Premier League, but Arsenal were the last time to beat the Blues with a convincing 3-0 win back in September.
