Bayern Munich appear to have ruled out a move for Alexis Sanchez, after claiming they will not sign older players for large fees.
The Chilean has been heavily linked with a move to Allianz Arena, although Manchester City are also reportedly big admirers of the Arsenal star.
Bayern president Uli Hoeness has now addressed the speculation with quotes that seem to suggest, Sanchez is not on their radar.
“We are all talking about a reconstruction and about planning Bayern Munich’s future,” he told Kicker.
“Then we do that, signing young players between 20 and 22 – and there are critics again.
“But you cannot reconstruct a team by signing 29 or 30-year-old players for €100m. That is no policy.

“Either we go all the way with all these young lads, and then they need to have the chance to play, or we don’t go it.”
Bayern have already dipped into the transfer market, and Hoeness is impressed with the signings they have made.
“I fully support what has been done so far, it is highly satisfactory and makes sense,” he added.
“Niklas Sule, Sebastian Rudy, Serge Gnabry and Corentin Tolisso are players with huge potential for the future.”
While Hoeness’s words will be welcomed by Arsenal is does seem to leave Manchester City as the only realistic option for Sanchez and, if the Chilean refuses to sign a new deal, leaves the club with a problem.
Either they sell him to a bitter rival this summer for a huge fee, or let him walk away for free next summer.
