Hector Bellerin has revealed what sort of captain Mesut Ozil is after the German wore the armband for the Gunners on Monday night (via Arsenal.com).
They were two of the best performers on the pitch on Monday night as Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin led the Gunners to a 3-1 win.
The pair combined well down the right flank but it was a strange sight to see Mesut Ozil wearing the captain’s armband.
Now, the Spaniard has revealed what sort of leader Ozil is in the Arsenal dressing room.
“Mesut is a player that has been through a lot in his career through loads of ups and downs,” Bellerin said after the match.
“But most of all he’s a born champion and he’s a player who has so many records in the world of football, so he’s a player that is an example for everyone.

“Everyone wants to have the success that he’s had on and off the pitch, so for us to have someone like him as a captain is really important.
“It’s always a blessing to have players like that but the work comes from the whole team and it comes from the back from the goalkeeper to the striker.
“We’re all one and when you have players with such quality it’s always that little bit easier.”
It was a brilliant performance from Mesut Ozil on Monday night. The German carried the armband – and the team with a wonderful display of attacking football.
