Karim Benzema has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Emirates recently (via the Daily Star), but a move has so far looked unlikely.
The player himself has refused to rule out a switch to Arsenal however, claiming that following Arsene Wenger’s phonecall a move could still be on the cards, as reported by Spanish publication El Confidencial.
It’s possible there could be a shakeup at Real Madrid, with new boss Rafa Benitez potentially experimenting with different formations.
The former Liverpool manager could look to use Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo up front (via the Express), which would lessen Benzema’s role at the club and potentially force him out.
The 27-year-old would be a top quality signing, and would arguably help take us to the next level. We are still in need of reinforcements in a number of key areas if we are to challenge for the highest honours this upcoming season, and Benzema is exactly the type of player we should be targeting.

The Express suggests we may have to wait until closer to the end of the window to find out his fate however, so as usual, Wenger may be leaving it late to get his business done.
