Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has once again clarified his future with Frenchman revealing that a move away from the Spanish giants was never an option, Goal reports.
Benzema was heavily linked with us all summer although it always seemed a bit far-fetched to think that Real Madrid would actually be willing to allow the 27-year-old to leave.
Having signed a new long-term contract last summer, Benzema told reporters at France’s international camp that his future remains at the Bernabeu.

“There was nothing in the talk of a transfer away from Madrid,” Benzema was quoted as saying.
“I’m happy at my current club, it’s the best in the world. I’ll continue to work here and be happy where I am.”

With Danny Welbeck facing an extended period on the sidelines, we are seriously short up front and our failure to sign a striker feels disastrous at this point.
Whether we were ever close to landing Benzema is yet to be determined, but we should have added another forward to the squad. While the availability may have been scarce, we’ve needed a striker since Robin van Persie left which hints at some incompetency from the club in terms of our recruitment.
Hopefully, we can stay in touch with the league leaders Manchester City until January and readdress the situation then.
