Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema’s agent has revealed that the Frenchman will not be moving to Arsenal or any other club this summer.
The French striker had been linked with a transfer to the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger determined to strength his squad significantly before the September 2 deadline.
However his agent Karim Djaziri has told French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche it is a deal that will not happen.
According to Mirror, he said :
We can not fight against the rumors, but I assure you Karim will not go to Arsenal.
There has never been any discussions and no contact has been established.
Real are expected to unveil the signing of Gareth Bale for a world record £85 in the next few days , but Djaziri doesn’t think that will push Benzema out of the club. Benzema is contracted to Madrid until 2015 and Djaziri said talks are ongoing over an extension. He added :
The arrival of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid is no threat. Both Cristiano Ronaldo and and Bale play on the wings and Karim is central.
We are working on a contract extension for three years. Discussions are taking place quietly, without deadline.

Karim could well end his career at Real, the club of his dreams.
With the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli, Benzema will undoubtedly be Madrid’s number one striker but there has also been talk of Ronaldo might take the striking role. Once news of a potential bid for the Frenchman from Arsenal arose it was only believed possible should Madrid then use the funds raised through his sale to replace him with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Wenger had even suggested a deal for the 25-year-old could be completed but only in the event that Madrid move in to sign Liverpool’s want away forward Luis Suarez.
The transfer window is now starting to get frenetic with just about a week to go,but Arsene Wenger seems to be confident of signing his targets . Whether there was ever an interest or attempt to sign Benzema remains to be seen, but the likelihood of the former Lyon man making a move to north London is looking unrealistic.
It’s possible that this is simply agent talk, either to make the case to Real Madrid that Benzema doesn’t want to leave, or to make the case to Arsenal that wages will have to be pretty good to attract him. Such a move was always unlikely to pull off due to the complications it had, but with recent developments at Anfield seeming to indicate that Suarez will not be leaving during this transfer window.
In some positive news it is looking more and more likely that Arsenal might sign Cabaye considering the fact that he was again absent from Newcastle’s starting line up on Saturday.
