Arsenal have been handed a boost ahead of Thursday’s match after Atletico Madrid admitted that two of their key players will miss the clash (via The Mirror).
It was always going to be a tough match for Arsenal match on Thursday but it may have just become a little easier.
Atletico Madrid have announced that their experienced defender, Juanfran will miss the clash with the Gunners.
The right-back joined from Osasuna in 2011 and has been a key man at the club ever since but he will not be the only player to miss the match.
Former Chelsea star, Diego Costa is also expected to miss the match at the Emirates after suffering a hamstring injury.
Arsenal are expected to have a few absentees for the clash with the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mohamed Elneny and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all set to miss the match.

It’s going to be a hugely tough match for Arsenal but things have become a little easier after Atletico Madrid lost a couple of players. Juanfran and, potentially, Diego Costa would be huge losses for the visitors and would make Arsenal’s task much easier.
