Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech will end up singing for us this summer according to El Confidencial’s reliable reporter Kike Marin after weeks of speculation.

Cech looked set to depart Stamford Bridge this summer after an 11-year stay following Thibaut Courtois’s return last and we have been strongly linked with the legendary shot-stopper.
The Telegraph reported last week that Roman Abramovich will grant Cech the luxury of choosing his next club with the 33-year-old preferring to stay in London to keep his family settled.
Signing a top-class goalkeeper was one of our dream signings this summer and Cech certainly falls into that category. Goalkeepers of his pedigree come around once every decade and he still has a considerable amount left at the top-level.

Cech’s longevity looks even brighter when one considers that Champions League finalist Gigi Buffon is 37-years-old and still going strong.
Manchester United also signed Edwin Van Der Sar as a 35-year-old and he went on to win four league titles and a Champions League trophy.
Signing Cech will also prove that Wenger is set become even more ruthless and one of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny may have to depart.
Should this deal go through, we’re 33.3% of the way there to assembling a squad capable of launching an assault on the Premier League. A holding midfielder and striker next, please Arsene!
