Santi Cazorla has expressed his desire to see the return of fellow Spaniard Cesc Fabregas to Arsenal, claiming the north London outfit ‘really love him’.
Fabregas’ future has become a hot topic once again, with Arsenal back in the mix for their former playmaker while Chelsea are also reportedly sniffing around.
Cazorla admits he does not know what the future holds for his compatriot, but is hoping the attacking midfielder could line up alongside him next season at club level, hailing him as a ‘great player’.
Cazorla reportedly told the press at a news conference:
I’ve read that he [Fabregas] could go to Chelsea but I’d prefer him to come to Arsenal because he’s a great player and they really love him there. I don’t know what his future is, but I hope that he will be happy and enjoys the team wherever he is.
Fabregas was a dominating force in English football, however the 27-year-old has drawn plenty of criticism despite contributing 15, 14 and 13 goals for Barcelona in all competitions during his three seasons with the club. Not a bad tally by any means, but the Catalan giants faithful appear to want more from the Spaniard after his move from Arsenal in 2011.
Cazorla also shares this opinion and feels his compatriot has integrated well into the star-studded Barcelona side. He added:
I don’t think there’s a big difference between Cesc’s performances in the Premier League and La Liga.

His statistics are great at Barcelona but he’s not valued the same as in England. There’s no difference in his numbers. He’s adapted perfectly to both leagues.
Agree with you there Santi, hopefully you can murmur some encouragement into his ears and help persuade him to come back to Arsenal.
Barca appear to be a club in transition, with this summer likely to see a number of players come in and a few stars to make way for further reinforcements. Players such as Cesc, Pedro, Sanchez and our ex-midfielder Alex Song are among the names whispered to be departing, but all three (with the exception of Song) are very decent players who have proven their abilities for Barca in the past.
Certainly Arsenal cannot complain if they are able to exercise the buyout clause and bring back their former talismanic captain. But it seems bizarre Barca want to sell a player who can help fill the void of the departing/aging Xavi Hernandez.
Nevertheless, what a mouthwatering midfield it would be for the Gunners – imagine Walcott, Ozil and Fabregas across the front behind a new, exciting centre forward. Sounds good to me. Not to mention Santi and Cesc linking up too.
Come home Fabregas!
