Santi Cazorla has sent a message to Arsenal fans following successful surgery in Sweden to cure a troublesome Achilles problem.
The midfielder was forced to go under the knife after picking up a problem in the Champions League tie against Ludogorets that forced him out of action.
The Spaniard spent a month on the sidelines, and reportedly saw a specialist in Barcelona, in a bid to alleviate the injury but without success.
The decision was therefore ultimately taken that Cazorla required an operation to fix the problem with manager Arsene Wenger admitting it had been a last resort.
Cazorla has now taken to social media to post a message from his hospital bed, assuring supporters that the surgery went perfectly and that he is hopeful of a swift recovery.
“Surgery done! It was perfect! Looking forward to be back at the #emiratesstadium with you! @arsenal,” he wrote on Instagram.
The 31-year-old was initially expected to be out for three months but Cazorla has since suggested he could return to Arsenal sooner than that and Gunners’ fans will certainly be hoping that is the case.

Although Arsenal have cruised into the Champions League knockout stages as group winners and lie second in the Premier League table, Cazorla’s influence and creativity have certainly been missed.
Get well soon Santi!
