Arsenal ‘cleared’ to sign £25m Real Madrid star
Chelsea look resigned to losing the veteran shot-stopper, as the Star reports they are already targeting Queens Park Rangers’ Rob Green as his replacement.
QPR have been relegated after a poor season, but Jose Mourinho may offer Green the chance to remain in the Premier League. This would be a huge boost for us, and would put us one massive step closer toward signing a top class ‘keeper this summer.
The Star’s report goes on to say that we are plotting a £10m move for the Czech international, and with the player himself seemingly keen, it seems like a deal could actually be done.
The experienced keeper claims he is “99 per cent” sure he will be plying his trade at the Emirates next season, with the one per cent doubt arising due to Mourinho’s unwillingness to sell to a rival.

We have two solid shot-stoppers in Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina, with the Colombian proving himself extremely reliable since taking the gloves from his Polish teammate. Cech is arguably a cut above however, and would almost certainly improve our side if he arrives come the end of the season.
