Petr Cech believes that Arsenal should name their new manager as soon as possible (via ESPN).
Arsenal’s search for a new manager appears to be hotting up and as eager as Arsenal fans are to learn who will get the job, the players must be even more so.
That is certainly the feeling given by Petr Cech in a recent interview where he revealed that he thinks the club should appoint Arsene Wenger’s successor as soon as possible.
“For the club it’s important to know as soon as possible because you need to prepare the squad, you need to prepare the preseason,” he told ESPN.
“The new manager will probably change little things here and there. So for the manager as well it’s important to have more time to prepare for the preseason.
“And as well if he decides not to keep some players, then for the players, it’s beneficial if they know in advance.”

Cech went onto say that he believes the club should look for some elements of continuity after Arsene Wenger’s 22-year stint at the club.
“If you want that continuity then obviously you need to find someone who shares the same values,” he said.
“There is a certain way that Arsenal has always presented itself and the way that the team plays football. So if he can carry that on and play the Arsenal way, that would obviously be great.”
Nobody outside of the club knows who Arsenal will appoint but it seems that Mikel Arteta is the leading candidate. Let’s hope that a decision is made soon because with the World Cup and the shortened transfer window, it’s going to be a very short summer.
