According to reports from the Metro, Arsenal could be in for a transfer battle with the two Manchester teams for the Barcelona midfielder, Cesc Fabregas.
The report goes further to state that Fabregas might be available since Barcelona is set for an overhaul this summer and he is believed to be one of the expendable players in the team.
Manchester United have already had a failed bid for Fabregas before. This happened last year in May when United’s £25m bid for the Barcelona midfielder was rejected.
Fabregas was a fan favourite when he was at Arsenal and many gooners would be glad to see him return. However, it would be very difficult for Arsenal to compete on financial terms for the Spanish player with the two Manchester teams, especially Manchester City.
There is talk of a potential buy back clause where we can purchase him for around the £25m mark, £15m less than we supposedly sold him for. Should be the case then we may have a realistic chance of re-securing his services. That said though how would he fit into our system?

Fabregas has proven to a interesting option as a false nine with both Barcelona and Spain, while he can play both in the advanced attacking midfield role and as a deeper box to box midfielder. Although we are well stocked in the engine room, we need depth and options for rotation, so Fabregas would be an excellent re-acquisition especially if we can prevent him heading to our rivals.
