The Arsenal Chelsea transfer saga this summer has been largely centred around our move for Petr Cech, but it seems Jose Mourinho is keen on trying to prise Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain away from us as well, according to the Express.

The report claims the Blues boss is plotting a £20m move for the Ox, with the bid apparently totally separate from any deal involving Cech. It’s almost impossible to see this one happening though, and I’m sure there would be riots from Arsenal fans if the move did go through.
The 21-year-old has buckets of potential, and has been getting closer and closer to a regular first team spot in recent seasons. Injuries to some of our key stars allowed him an extended run in the side earlier on in the last campaign, but injury issues of his own kept him sidelined for much of 2015.
He has the perfect blend of power, pace, and trickery, and it would be madness for Arsene Wenger to even consider selling him. He already strikes fear into defenders when on the ball, and once the young Englishman refines his end product, he could well become a star of the English top flight.
As the Express reports, Mourinho is keen to avoid selling Cech to a Premier League rival. Hopefully our move for the Czech international doesn’t hinge on us letting one of our homegrown players head in the other direction.
