Chelsea rock Nemanja Matic has revealed that he was unhappy with Petr Cech’s move to us this summer and has warned his club that the 33-year-old is still capable of having a huge impact, The Guardian reports.
Cech’s arrival has been met with mass hysteria among Arsenal fans; understandably so given that we’ve waited for so long to possess a top class goalkeeper between the sticks.
Cech’s future was always going to be in doubt following Courtois’s return to Stamford Bridge, which makes Arsene Wenger’s swift movement to land the Czech international rather impressive – and Matic is certainly aware of his former teammate’s qualities.

“Petr is a great guy and a great keeper. It is going to be a very important signing for them,” the midfielder told The Guardian.
“But I am not happy because of that. We know that he is very professional. He is one of the best keepers. And I hope this season he does not perform as he did here for 10-11 years.”

While they’ve definitely strengthened us, Chelsea still have one of the best goalkeepers in the world positioned between their sticks. However, Cech’s legendary status will give them a taste of how it felt watching Cesc Fabregas play in their colours last season.
Hopefully Cech can continue his recent success and help deliver our first league title in 11 years – which will be his fifth winners medal.
