Chuba Akpom looks close to breaking into the Arsenal first team, and Arsene Wenger seems to have faith that he can make it at the top.
Akpom himself believes he can become a star at the Emirates, and claims his tough upbringing will help him succceed, according to Arsenal‘s official website.
The teenage star has been handed a handful of first team appearances, and has impressed when given a chance.
He hasn’t quite managed to get his first Arsenal goal just yet, but he has looked a constant threat due to his pace.

The young Englishman believes his childhood has made him the player he is today, and that it will only serve to help him grow at Arsenal.
“Where I’m from, it’s a tough upbringing so everyone from my area has a strong mentality,” he said.
“When we used to play football you wanted to win otherwise there would be a scrap, there would be something going on, so I’ve a strong mentality.
“I’m super, super competitive and it’s good to have a winning mentality. Anything you want to do, if you put your mind to it and work hard, you can do it.
“You’ve got to have that belief in yourself. I love the saying ‘you are what you believe’.
“If you believe you’re a champion, you’re going to train like a champion. You’re going to run like a champion and do everything like a champion. It’s like an extra boost.”
We are likely to see more from Akpom towards the end of the season, but it could be a while before he becomes a regular fixture in the first team. He has recently put pen to paper on a new deal at Arsenal, so let’s hope he is right about becoming a star at the Emirates.
