Hakan Calhanoglu has been lighting up the Bundesliga once again this season, and continues to attract attention from some top clubs. We have been consistently linked with a move for the Turkish international, and Bayer Leverkusen have now set an asking price of £29m, according to the Express.
As the report suggests, Calhanoglu has been touted as the next Mesut Özil in the past. No doubt this is in large part due to his Turkish heritage, but is also down to his creativity and brilliant passing. The Leverkusen star also excels phenomenally in one other area though, and that’s free kicks.
The 21-year-old is arguably the best free kick taker in Europe at the moment, and is so good that you actually expect him to score each time he steps up to take a set piece.
The Express claim the German side are keen to hold on to Calhanoglu, but insist there is a point at which they just can’t say no. The report suggests that point is £29m, a fee we could easily afford if Arsene Wenger decided he wanted to bring the young attacking midfielder to the Emirates.

The piece also claims we are facing competition from Manchester United, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid, proving that he really is a player in demand at the moment.
