Colombia and Porto striker Jackson Martinez would not hesitate to the join the Gunners if they made an offer, claiming it would be fulfilling a boy-hood dream.
The forward has impressed for his nation at the World Cup in Brazil, and will be on show again this Friday when they face the hosts in this weeks Quarter Final.
Arsenal are chasing a centre forward this summer to compete with Olivier Giroud, so a number of World Cup stars have been linked with a move to Emirates with Martinez emerging as one of the favourites.
When quizzed on the speculation, the 27-year-old expressed his desire to push through a move should the opportunity arise.
He told reporters:
I know that there have been discussions, but still no agreements.

My agent is taking care of my future, right now I’m at the World Cup and only after the World Cup I’ll evaluate proposals.
As a child I cheered for Arsenal, they play a game that suits me. If I had the occasion to play there, I would say yes.
The Porto star is valued at around £20m after another prolific season in Portugal. He has certainly impressed during the World Cup with his high work rate and some classy finishing.
He has bundles of energy and could be the next Wilfried Bony or Demba Ba type of figure in the Premier League next season – a physical striker who can score goals but isn’t necessarily a superstar-calibre player. However this is perhaps what we need to improve our depth, especially as he would be likely to play second fiddle to Olivier Giroud.
Martinez would certainly be an interesting acquisition, however there are higher priority players such as Mario Mandzukic, Alexis Sanchez and even Romelu Lukaku who I would prefer over the Colombian. If we could manage to get Martinez and say Sanchez then we would be good to go up front. Wenger will want to utilize Yaya Sanogo this season however, as the Frenchman seems to rate him highly, and will likely only add one striker to our attacking options.
Do you think we should get Martinez? Or would you prefer another centre forward? Share your thoughts below…
