The teams have been announced for our FA Cup replay with Hull, and predictably Arsene Wenger has made a number of changes. Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez have been dropped, although they’re on the bench rather than out of the squad altogether. The manager clearly wants to keep them available in case they are needed, which is a wise move.
David Ospina starts as expected, with the Colombian taking his chances in Petr Cech’s absence. Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal are once again rested, with Calum Chambers and Kieran Gibbs starting ahead of them. Our options at centre-back are a little more limited, and Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista predictably start.
Francis Coquelin is suspended, so Mathieu Flamini and Mohamed Elneny start in midfield. The Egyptian has been impressive recently, and hopefully his good form continues.
Alex Iwobi, Joel Campbell, and Theo Walcott start ahead of the midfield, with the three players likely to interchange throughout the game. Olivier Giroud starts alone up front, with Danny Welbeck rested altogether.

Youngsters Chris Willock and Jeff Reine-Adelaide are on the bench, and hopefully we’ll make light work of Hull early on so they can be utilised in the second half. The Hull team is as follows:

- Mikel Arteta makes U-turn on long-term Arsenal star – will stay at club
- Revealed: Five-time European champions made ‘concrete offer’ for Aubameyang
We really should be getting the win here, and the fact that we are forced into a replay is already disappointing. We can’t take them for granted though, and away from home is always more of a challenge.
Arsenal transfer news
It would be a massive blow if we were to crash out of the FA Cup against Championship opposition, especially as realistically it’s still our best chance of silverware this season.
