We recorded our first win of the season in a difficult match at Selhurst Park against a vibrant Crystal Palace. We were given a stern test regarding our title credentials, and came away with all three points.
There were a number of sensational performances throughout the side, with certain players answering their critics.
Arsenal transfer news
Here is how our boys rated this afternoon.
GK) Petr Cech – 6
All eyes were on the 33-year-old after his howlers against West Ham, and Cech was visibly nervy during the 90 minutes. For Crystal Palace’s goal, Cech could do little about the strike though he was shaky when coming for the ball.

RB) Hector Bellerin – 7
Bellerin’s importance couldn’t have been highlighted more when analysing what he offered us defensively and offensively. Wilfried Zaha couldn’t beat the Spaniard for pace, while Bellerin dragged him back the other way with his marauds forward.
CB) Per Mertesacker – 8
Produced a captain’s display. Mertesacker, especially in the final moments of the came, put his body on the line for the cause.
CB) Laurent Koscielny – 6
Koscielny was solid throughout, but the way he turned his back on the ball for Crystal Palace’s goal was criminal. Having done similar against West Ham, Koscielny needs to relinquish this habit.
LB) Nacho Monreal – 8
Another dependable, reliable, and solid performance from the ever-impressive Monreal. He is fast becoming the defender Wenger can rely upon in our back four.
