The BBC’s David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal have agreed on a deal with Lucas Torreira over the player’s transfer.
He’s the man who every Arsenal fan waits to hear from when it comes to transfers and he has finally spoken about Lucas Torreira.
The Uruguayan midfielder has been closing in on a move to the Gunners for some time but things were delayed by the World Cup.
Now, Uruguay are heading home after the 2-0 defeat to France on Friday afternoon and it seems that the Lucas Torreira deal is moving closer.
The BBC’s David Ornstein tweeted shortly after the full-time whistle that Torreira has agreed on a deal with Arsenal and that his signing and a medical is “imminent.”
He claims that Arsenal want to complete the deal as early as next week and that it will conclude Arsenal’s first-team business this season, excusing a potential younger signing.
Arsenal hope to complete Lucas Torreira deal next week. Agreed with Sampdoria & 22yo. Medical + signing imminent – depends if he flies straight from #WorldCup to London or via #URU Finishes 1st team recruitment but a younger player for future also likely before window shuts #AFC pic.twitter.com/LHkXid7Rda
