The BBC’s David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal are set to loan Calum Chambers to Premier League rivals Fulham (via The BBC).
It’s a rather surprising piece of transfer business but it seems as if Arsenal could soon be losing a centre-back to another Premier League club.
The BBC’s David Ornstein has claimed that Calum Chambers is close to agreeing on a season-long loan deal to newly-promoted Fulham.
The news comes just a few weeks after Chambers signed a new four-year deal at the Emirates.
Arsenal already have Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding and Konstantinos Mavropanos to choose from at centre-back.
Chambers has made 83 appearances for the Gunners since his 2013 move from Southampton.

It’s a strange transfer considering the player’s new contract. ” He played an important role last season and will be part of my plans this season,” said head coach Unai Emery after Chambers signed his new Arsenal deal last month.
It’s unclear why this strange u-turn was made from the club considering the fact that many expected Chambers to become one of the starting centre-backs for Arsenal this season.
