Ex-Arsenal star Thomas Vermaelen is concerned about the impact Petr Cech could have on the game this Tuesday, as he knows the former Chelsea star always plays well against Barcelona, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Cech has been a huge part of our success this season, and has singlehandedly saved us points on a number of occasions. Keeping out the likes of Luis Suarez, Neymar, and Lionel Messi will obviously be a challenge even for him, but he has an excellent record against the La Liga giants.
Vermaelen has been really impressed with Cech since his arrival at Arsenal, and believes we’ve made a truly great signing.
“He’s great value,” he said.
“He’s a world class goalkeeper. A strong goalkeeper. He’s got a lot of experience, which is what you actually need. They made a good signing.
“I heard he’s always playing well against Barcelona, so it’s going to be difficult.”

Barcelona will be fielding a few players that Cech has never faced before, but Messi is a familiar foe. Messi strikes fear into most keepers, but the Arsenal shot-stopper has come out on top every time against the Argentine, with Messi yet to score a single goal against him.
Arsenal transfer news
We’ll need more than just Cech if we’re to get the better of Barcelona, but hopefully the former Blues keeper can do enough to keep us in the game long enough for our forwards to perform.
