Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez is a doubt for Arsenal’s midweek clash with Sunderland after picking up a thigh problem in the win over Stoke City.
The Chilean was forced off in the 4-1 victory and Wenger has admitted he will have a fitness test on Monday ahead of the clash against David Moyes’ men.
“Alexis should have a test today. It didn’t look good but with him he is always so eager,” he said via The Mirror.
“We have a little bit of a problem with [Laurent] Koscielny but we should have everyone available.
“[Kieran] Gibbs should be available but [Alex] Oxlade Chamberlain is out.”
Knowing Sanchez it would be a surprise if he were to sit out the game, particularly with Arsenal in need of a win to maintain their top four hopes and Wenger has praised his top scorer.

“He plays now in a position where he can provide now and he can score. He has become a complete player,” he says.
“Of course it is an exceptional achievement, to score in double figures and provide in double figures.”
Wenger was also in confident mood ahead of the game with the Black Cats and is confident Arsenal can maintain their current form
“I am very positive because it looks like we get stronger in every game. We have to dig deep and fight in every game,” he added.
“We won six of the last seven games. We look strong again away from home.”
Arsenal will be expecting to take all three points against the Black Cats with the race for Champions League places set to go to the final day of the season.
