Arsenal fans have been complaining for quite some time about the transfer policy at the club, and also about the tactics employed by the manager lately. We keep possession well, but are unable to find the final product. Also, whenever we lose possession we are incredibly vulnerable, too many players are committed up the pitch and our defenders are out of form. We have conceded from almost every shot on target, as was clearly demonstrated in the games against Chelsea and Hull City.
This week was especially painful for Gooners, we let a lead slip from our fingers twice, first a THREE goal lead against Anderlecht and then a one goal lead against the Swans became a 2-1 loss. Thus, the ‘Wenger Out’ chants on social media have become even more stronger.
But in a worrying development, the latest reports state that even the Arsenal coaches and staff are dissatisfied with the way the team is being run and are concerned with the tactics being employed by manager Arsene Wenger. Questions have been raised about the 65-year-old Frenchman, led by former player Paul Merson, and these questions are also being asked by the staff at the Emirates.
Sky Sports pundit Merson described Wenger’s tactics as ‘clueless’ following the draw against the Belgian outfit. But Merson has not been the only former player to question the side; Ian Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live:
What is worrying is that Steve Bould is there (and these mistakes are happening).
I know there are players Steve Bould has recommended to Arsenal that they’ve not taken. That needs to change.
This news, if true, is extremely worrying. The staff is there to help and advise the manager, and if he does not take their advice then we have a problem at the club. Even Wenger realises that something needs to change with the mentality of the team, and hopefully he does that soon. Arsenal’s latest loss leaves the side in 6th place after taking just 17 points from their opening 11 matches. They desperately need to regain some form before the next run of fixtures, which include Manchester United and Dortmund.

The international break gives everyone some time off to reset. Hopefully by the time we are required to play again our problems both on the field and off will have been solved.
