Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of talented young forward Ousmane Dembele (via the Mirror), which may well open the door for Henrikh Mkhitaryan to leave the club this summer.
The 28-year-old has been in fantastic form this season, scoring and assisting with regularity. With just a year left on his current contract (via the Mirror) Dortmund are doing everything they can to keep hold of him, but the signing of Dembele may well show that they are resigned to losing the Armenian at the end of the season.
We are among a number of clubs who have been linked with Mkhitaryan over the last couple of transfer windows, but it seems as though we may well be leading the chase for his signature (via The Evening Standard).
We can offer him Champions League football, regular game time, and the chance to play in the Premier League. You’d argue that only really Tottenham can compete with us on that front while still proving a relatively enticing prospect, but they’ll probably drop out of the Champions League next season anyway.
Mkhitaryan would be an absolutely fantastic signing, as he’s been up there among the best in the world this season. We really need to add more goals from midfield, as we’ve struggled somewhat this season, and Mkhitaryan could do just that.

Arsenal transfer news
With just a year left on his contract he shouldn’t be nearly as expensive as a player of his calibre should be, and hopefully Arsene Wenger can do a bit of magic and get him for a steal. With Dembele at Dortmund they may not be as loathe to lose Mkhitaryan, and their loss could be our gain.
