Footballers are supposedly a superstitious lot. So it would not be a surprise if during Arsenal’s fantastic current run – where they have won seven straight Premier League games – each player has kept everything about their pre-match ritual the same, including the songs they listen to before they take to the Emirates pitch.
The Daily Mirror have reported the particular tunes that some of Arsene Wenger’s men have used to inspire their march up the table. And while their recent performances have been the product of the Gunners gelling perfectly, there appears to be little cohesion in creating the dressing room playlist.
Solid centre-back Laurent Koscielny has picked one of the biggest songs in recent years – “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. He, like many of his teammates, have picked tracks by artists well-known to the British public. However, some of the squad – like David Ospina and Santi Cazorla – choose to listen to music from closer to home.
Perhaps surprisingly, given his exciting and dynamic performances, striker Olivier Giroud chose the slightly more mellow, “Every teardrop is a waterfall” by Coldplay.

But the fans won’t mind what music the players listen to, as long as the run continues with victory against Burnley on Saturday.
