Unai Emery has spoken about a week in which Arsenal have lost two-goal leads in two separate matches (via Arsenal.com).
It’s been a disappointing week for Arsenal, awash with sloppy goals, controversy, and lost leads.
The Gunners have gone two goals in front in both of their matches this week, only to end up drawing in 90 minutes.
Arsenal squandered the lead on two separate occasions against Liverpool and now, Unai Emery has spoken about this troubling trend.
“We are also working to improve defensively, when we are winning 2-0 it’s not normal to draw,” Emery said ahead of Saturday’s match with Wolves.
“We deserved to win, but OK we can also speak about the referee’s decisions last week. But that match has finished now, and we are going to focus on tomorrow, on improving.
“It’s a different team, they also have very good players, and also the are strong offensively. And I hope we can manage the 90 minutes imposing our gameplan.
“This is a new challenge for us and I am excited to play tomorrow and if you ask me where do I want to play my matches? At home, at home with our supporters because we feel strong with them.”
It’s a worrying trend. Let’s hope that the Gunners can overcome this habit of losing leads in matches but there’s little to suggest that things will change.
