Unai Emery has spoken about how much money Arsenal can spend in the January transfer window (via Arsenal.com).
Arsenal have struggled defensively all season long but things haven’t gotten worst in recent weeks given the injuries and suspensions to some key players.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi were both absent on Sunday through suspension while Hector Bellerin has joined Rob Holding on the sidelines with injury.
There have been suggestions that Arsenal will look into the January transfer market and now, Unai Emery has been quizzed about whether this is even financially possible for the club.
“It is not easy,” Emery said after Sunday’s match.
“I don’t believe a lot in this transfer window because it is not a very big possibility with the players. The club is working only if some players can help us with a high level or better than [what we have].

“I don’t know now, because we don’t have a lot of possibility in January but if we can [we will find] someone to help us. But only if we think they are the player than can help us with good performance.
“January is not good for this reason, but we are going to look and the club is working for this in January.
“Our progress is also with young players and we need to give them more chances to play and show us their progress. But also for our big demands, we need a high level on the pitch and in the squad.”
It’s a big ask for Arsenal to find a player who can improve the side in the January transfer window. The Gunners are certainly lacking defensively and could probably do with another centre-back in the coming weeks.
