Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has revealed what he is rotating the club’s star strikers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette (via The Metro).
They’re two of the most prolific strikers in Europe at the moment but it’s been rare to see both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette on the pitch at the same time.
The two players have linked up extremely well at times but have often been used in a squad rotation policy by Arsenal.
Now, head coach Unai Emery has explained his reasoning behind the decision and insisted that the duo – and Arsenal – aren’t quite the finished article.
“We are in a process. It will work for one game, but then not for another,” Emery said of his striking duo.
“You have to look for answers to all different matches. I love analysing them.
- Arsenal must outmanoeuvre Galatasaray to win race for £2m ‘bargain’ transfer
- Arsenal reportedly set to sign free agent after impressive trial
- Arsenal have ‘concrete interest’ in signing Bayern Munich II star
“When I left Valencia, I told the president that I was more analytical of coaches than of players. I don’t have time to analyse players. I am more tactical. Wenger, for example, was more about pure football, more of a player coach.”
It’s an interesting series of quotes from Unai Emery. The relationship between Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette has attracted a lot of attention but it just hasn’t clicked on a consistent basis thus far. Hopefully, Unai Emery can find the answer to the problem.
