It was a pleasing night for Arsenal fans as the Gunners picked up a crucial 2-0 victory over Napoli in the first leg of their Europa League tie.
First-half goals from Aaron Ramsey and Lucas Torreira were enough to pick up the win which sets Arsenal up well for next week.
It was a good result but after the match, Arsenal head coach Unai Emery was asked how happy he was with the scoreline.
“50 per cent,” Emery said after the match.

“I think we deserved the result. The two halves were very different because in the first half we controlled the ball very well and controlled with our positioning and attacked their box with the players, scoring two goals and some chances more.
“We didn’t concede a lot for them, only the one chance they earned in the first half. The second was different for us because they took more control with the ball and had more possession, but our transition also was very good.
“They’re going to use their possibilities and attacking options against us for a comeback. Our objective now is to continue being competitive like we are here, away with our gameplay for the next matches.”
It’s going to be a tough match for Arsenal next week. The Gunners’ home record was never in doubt but their results away from the Emirates have been less than convincing in the last year. Let’s hope things can improve in the coming weeks and months.
