The Emirates Stadium hosted its first game nine years ago today to mark Dennis Bergkamp’s testimonial in what was a special occasion for the club.

Despite its beauty, the stadium has been a burden over the past few years and culminated in our most sensitive period as a football club.
However, with the debt from the stadium now more manageable and the fruits from the 60,000-seater certainly becoming apparent, it may be time to reflect on our history in N5.

In a game highly regarded as the day Emirates Stadium started to feel like home, Thierry Henry provided a magical moment to hand us all three points against our old enemies.
From our part, pride was certainly the motivation in this fixture considering that we were never involved in the title race but the victory ensured that we had done the double over Manchester United.
A very rare feat.
