Everton and England defender Phil Jagielka has surprisingly named Jack Wilshere as the slowest member in Roy Hodgson’s squad, Sky Sports report.
In a series of question alongside our very own Danny Welbeck, Jagielka went for Wilshere when asked to name the slowest in the current England squad.
When you factor in the goalkeepers as well, it becomes clear that Jagielka may need his eyes testing given that Wilshere is blessed with some considerable speed.

The 23-year-old’s ‘burst’ has now become one of his trademarks and when he’s in full motion, he leaves many trailing as he marauds towards the opposition’s box. You can’t do that without pace. In fact, in a 100 metre sprint, Wilshere could potentially embarrass Jagielka himself.
“Jack (Wilshere),” the Everton man stated when asked to name the slowest player.

“Jack’s not known for his pace so sorry Wilsh, but he can be the slowest!”
Hopefully, Jagielka isn’t letting a report which came out earlier this year get to his head. As per the Daily Mail, the former Sheffield United man was named the fastest Premier League player following a specific sprint he completed against Leicester City.
Wilshere won four consecutive man of the match awards for England earlier on this season and will be looking to pick up where he left off against the Republic of Ireland on Sunday.
