Arsenal hate figure Samir Nasri has been implicated in the Mathieu Valbuena sex tape scandal, despite the Frenchman insisting he has nothing to do with it, as reported by French publication Le Monde (via the Metro).
Valbuena spoke to the paper and revealed his disappointment in his teammates, particularly with the involvement of Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.
Benzema could be in serious trouble if the charges stick, as he’s currently facing charges of “complicity in an attempt to blackmail and participation in a criminal association”. He could be facing a minimum of five years in jail, effectively putting an end to his football career.
The Los Blancos striker claims he was merely advising his friend and teammate, but Valbuena insists that although Benzema was in no way threatening or aggressive, he “indirectly” tried to force him to pay up.
Nasri’s name also came up during extensive wiretapping, although it’s not clear how involved – if at all – the ex-Arsenal star is. He’s said to have been aware of the blackmailing, but that is as far as the information goes so far.
It wouldn’t surprise Arsenal fans if Nasri were involved, as the mercenary has a history of poor conduct. His behaviour during and after his transfer away from the club was despicable, and he has acted just as badly with his national team as well.

He’s been a periphery figure at Manchester City for most of his time there, with a few sporadic runs in the team all he’s managed. Clearly he’s the type of player who is happy to sit on the bench and pick up his paycheque though, and money is clearly what matters to him. Not that that necessarily means he has anything to do with a blackmail scandal involving huge amounts of money.
